‘Will fight PM Modi’s narrative of Naya Kashmir’, MP Rashid after walking out of Tihar jail | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid launched from Tihar Jail on Wednesday after receiving interim bail. The courtroom granted him bail until October 2, permitting him to marketing campaign for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir meeting elections.
Rashid had been in jail since 2019, arrested by the Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) beneath the Illegal Actions (Prevention) Act in a 2017 terror funding case.
Talking after his launch, Rashid stated, “I can’t let down my folks. I take a pledge that I’ll battle PM Modi’s narrative of ‘Naya Kashmir‘, which has failed completely in J&Okay. Folks have rejected no matter he did on fifth August 2019. I’m dedicated to working for the welfare of my folks. We aren’t going to get scared. My battle is greater than what Omar Abdullah says. His battle is for the chair, my battle is for the folks. I’m a sufferer of BJP, I’ll battle towards PM Modi’s ideology until my final breath…I’m coming to Kashmir to unite my folks, to not divide them…”
A senior jail official confirmed Rashid’s launch at 4:15pm. Rashid, who defeated former chief minister Omar Abdullah within the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in Baramulla, leads the Awami Ittehad Get together (AIP), which is contesting within the upcoming meeting elections.
The elections are set to happen in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with outcomes introduced on October 8.
