US fund Warburg Pincus sells 6.5% in Kalyan Jewellers for Rs 3,584 crore – Times of India



NEW DELHI: Non-public fairness main Warburg Pincus on Thursday bought a 6.45% stake in jewelry retailer Kalyan Jewellers for Rs 3,584 crore through open market transactions. In the meantime, the Singapore govt, Constancy, Nomura, HSBC Mutual Fund and Citigroup International Markets acquired stakes within the firm.
US-based Warburg Pincus, by means of its affiliate Highdell Funding, offloaded shares of Kalyan Jewellers by means of a block deal on the NSE.In response to the information, Highdell Funding bought a 6.45% stake in Kalyan Jewellers. The shares have been disposed at a mean value of Rs 539 apiece, taking the mixed transaction worth to just about Rs 3,584.5 crore.
On the finish of the June quarter, Highdell Funding owned a 9.17% stake in Thrissur-based Kalyan Jewellers. It has held the stake since 2014.
