To hide Thailand trip, Mumbai student mutilates passport, lands in trouble | India News – Times of India



MUMBAI: A 25-year-old vogue merchandising pupil, SS Ghatol, was intercepted at Mumbai airport on Thursday whereas making an attempt to board a flight to Singapore. Police mentioned that immigration officers found 4 lacking pages in her passport.
Ghatol, a first-year pupil, was travelling on a vacationer visa to fulfil an internship sponsored by her Worli-based institute.She had mutilated her passport to cover from her institute a visit to Thailand she had undertaken from Feb 11 to 14. She had then sought exemption from an examination claiming that she was unwell, mentioned a police officer.
Assistant immigration officer Sujit Patil mentioned that Ghatol feared her deception can be found when the institute requested her to submit her passport after she was shortlisted for the internship in Singapore.
Ghatol has been charged with dishonest and violations beneath the Passport Act.
