Seshasayee Paper approves ₹405-cr. mill expansion plan



The board of administrators of Seshasayee Paper and Boards Ltd. (SPB) has authorised a 20% enhance within the manufacturing capacities of paper and pulp beneath the undertaking Mill Improvement Plan IV, Section I (MDP-IV-PI) at Erode costing ₹405 crore.

As per the plan, the enlargement will result in enhance in paper manufacturing by 12,500 TPA, pulp manufacturing by 35,000 TPA and black liquor dry solids firing capability from 950 TPD to 1,500 TPD.

The work on proposed enlargement will start by October and industrial manufacturing is slated to start by April 2026.

SPB at present consumes costlier imported deinked pulp/imported pulp in its Tirunelveli unit. The excess in-house pulp from Erode could be transferred to Tirunelveli unit to exchange the more expensive pulp, thereby enhancing the EBIDTA margins of the present operations, the corporate stated in a regulatory submitting.

On Friday, SPB board thought of the detailed techno-economic feasibility report and thereafter submitted an software to safe environmental clearances for MDP-IV-PI. It’s at present beneath overview by the EAC and of MoEF&CC, stated the corporate.

In the meantime, SPB stated that NCLT Chennai Bench authorised the sale of Servalakshmi Paper Ltd. as a going concern in favour of SPB.
