RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh’s energy corridors are abuzz after Kaushalya Devi Sai, chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s spouse, known as herself ‘tremendous CM’. What started as a light-hearted comment has now erupted right into a full-blown political spectacle, with BJP and Congress exchanging jabs and sparking a energetic debate.
The controversy started when a video of Kaushalya surfaced on-line. Seemingly in jest, she remarks within the video that many officebearers contested polls and have become MLAs or MPs.“With out contesting, I’m like MLA and MP and now am referred to as tremendous CM,” she says, laughing.
Former CM and Congress’ Bhupesh Baghel shared the video on X, saying: “Until now, no one knew who was working the government. Many thought it was being run by the CM, finance minister O P Choudhary, or different BJP members from Himachal or Bihar. Now we all know that our Bhauji (sister-in-law) is working the present!”
Chhattisgarh BJP retaliated rapidly, accusing Baghel of distorting a remark made by a “easy and harmless tribal girl” and prying into the non-public affairs of a tribal household.
