Parliament’s standing committees have been constituted on Thursday with BJP’s Bhartruhari Mahtab to helm the important thing panel on Finance and Congress’ Shashi Tharoor to go the panel on Exterior Affairs.

DMK’s Tiruchi Siva and Okay Kanimozhi will chair the committees on Trade; and Shopper Affairs, Meals and Public Distribution respectively.

Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur and Rajiv Pratap Rudy have been given the chairmanships of committees on Coal, Mines and Metal; and Water Sources respectively.

BJP member Nishikant Dubey has been made the chairman of the committee on Communications and Data Know-how.

Within the earlier Lok Sabha, Mr Dubey had a operating battle with Tharoor, who was the chair on the panel of Committee and IT. Tharoor was changed as chair of the essential committee in 2022.
