‘Opposition MLAs not safe …’: BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari says TMC MLA tried to ‘assault’ him in Bengal Assembly premises | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: Suvendu Adhikari, chief of the opposition within the West Bengal meeting, alleged on Wednesday that TMC MLA Tapan Chatterjee abused him verbally and tried to assault him within the state legislative.
The BJP chief and Nandigram MLA expressed “insecurity” on being on the meeting premises and wrote a letter to Bengal speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay, looking for motion in opposition to the MLA of ruling TMC.
“If the opposition MLAs usually are not secure contained in the Meeting premises take into consideration the plight of Opposition Political Employees within the state of West Bengal,” the BJP chief wrote on X.
“I’m to state that at the moment at about 12.20 pm on the decrease foyer, Tapan Chatterjee, MLA of Purbasthali, rushed in the direction of me and tried to assault me bodily and threw abusive language in entrance of different MLAs and reporters. Later, speaker Bandyopadhyay stated he has initiated an investigation into the allegations of Adhikari
