NEW DELHI: Following the sexual assault in opposition to 2 minors in Thane district, Nationalist Congress Social gathering (NCP-SCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday claimed that there’s not a day in Maharashtra the place there isn’t any information of crimes in opposition to ladies. Pawar stated that the Badlapur incident involving the alleged sexual abuse of two kindergarten ladies has tarnished Maharashtra’s popularity nationwide.
“There may be not a day in Maharashtra when there isn’t any information of atrocities in opposition to ladies … The federal government ought to take this incident severely. The federal government is saying that the opposition is doing politics, calling it politics exhibits how insensitive the federal government is,” the NCP (SP) chief stated.
Pawar, who participated in a silent protest in Pune alongside different leaders from the opposition bloc Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), condemned the federal government’s response to the incident. He argued that dismissing the opposition’s outrage as political maneuvering is indicative of the federal government’s insensitivity.
“The Badlapur incident has hit the picture of Maharashtra within the nation,” Pawar stated.
“The incident that occurred in Badlapur is a severe challenge. This incident is surprising; subsequently, reactions are coming from varied locations,” Pawar had instructed newsagency ANI on Friday.
In response to the crime, the MVA had deliberate a statewide ‘Maharashtra Bandh’ on August 24 to protest in opposition to the incident.
