MADURAI: Actress and BJP state govt member Namitha Vankawala on Monday accused Meenakshi Amman Temple staffers of mistreating her.
Namitha, accompanied by her husband, Veerendra Chowdary, alleged that temple authorities requested for proof of her non secular affiliation earlier than permitting her to enter the sanctum sanctorum on Monday morning.
Namitha expressed her frustration in a social media submit, stating that she and her husband had been questioned about their faith regardless of figuring out themselves as Hindus.

In a video shared on her social media platforms, Namitha urged Hindu non secular and charitable endowments minister P Ok Sekarbabu to take applicable motion.

A senior HR and CE official on anonymity stated the request for non secular identification was a routine process. “We ask for particulars as a part of our customary safety protocol, particularly from people carrying face masks.
