NEW DELHI: Bhartiya Janata Occasion chief and former Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday opposed the advisory to eateries alongside the Kanwar yatra route, requiring them to show the names of their homeowners. Naqvi claimed that such orders could give rise to the illness of untouchability.
In a social media publish on X, Naqvi criticized the officers, and mentioned, “The hasty orders of some over-zealous officers could give rise to the illness of untouchability…Religion should be revered, however untouchability should not be inspired.”

Naqvi additional quoted Saint Ravidas’s couplet, saying, “Janm jaat mat poochhie, ka jaat aru paat. Raidas poot sab Prabhu ke, koye nahin jaat kujat.”
This assertion follows a current directive from Muzaffarnagar Police requiring all eateries on the Kanwar Yatra path to show the names of householders to stop any ‘confusion.’
