Manipur violence: Ex-CM Mairembam Koireng’s house attacked by rocket; one dead, five injured | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: Violence in Manipur continued on Friday as officers reported a suspected rocket assault in a residential space of Moirang in Bishnupur district. The presumed bomb fell on the compound of former chief minister Mairembam Koireng‘s residence, leaving an aged man useless and 5 others injured.
“The aged man was getting ready for some spiritual rituals within the compound when the bomb exploded.He died on the spot,” an official instructed PTI. A 13-year-old lady was among the many 5 injured within the explosion.

The rocket fell at a spot round two kilometers from the Indian Nationwide Military (INA) headquarters, the place Lieutenant Colonel Shaukat Ali hoisted flag for the primary time on Indian soil in April 1944, underneath the steering of INA Supreme Commander Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
This was the second rocket fired within the district on Friday. Earlier within the day, a rocket was fired from an elevated place within the close by hill areas towards the low-lying residential locality of Tronglaobi, situated round 45 kilometers from the state capital Imphal.
