NEW DELHI: Karnataka governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Saturday gave the nod for the prosecution of chief minister Siddaramiah in alleged Mysuru City Improvement Authority (MUDA) website allotment rip-off.
The event comes weeks after social activist and advocate TJ Abraham filed a petition with the governor, in search of permission to prosecute CM Siddaramaiah in a case pertaining to land allotted to his spouse BM Parvathi.
Earlier, Siddaramaiah had expressed confidence that the governor would reject a petition in search of prosecution towards him.
“Every part is authorized, (the governor) ought to be satisfied. Not hopeful, I am assured that he’ll settle for (the federal government’s response) as issues are authorized. He (governor) is the top of the Structure, when issues are in accordance with the Structure, why will not he settle for? I am assured that he’ll settle for,” Siddaramaiah informed reporters in Mysuru.
The alleged MUDA rip-off entails the “fraudulent” allotment of websites to land losers.
The rip-off emerged when the unique proprietor of a 3.16-acre parcel of land in Kesare village petitioned the Mysuru deputy commissioner (DC) to reclaim their land.
This land parcel in query, was transferred to CM Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law in 2005.
