NEW DELHI: The Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) on Wednesday opposed newly elected J&Ok MP Engineer Rashid’s plea, arguing that if launched Rashid might “misuse his place to affect witnesses and hinder justice”.
Rashid, who’s behind bars beneath the Illegal Actions (Prevention) Act, or UAPA prices, gained the 2024 Lok Sabha polls from J&Ok’s Baramulla seat.He defeated ex-CM Omar Abdullah.

Earlier, the NIA had given Rashid its consent to take oath as MP on July 25.
