Hopper collapse kills 4 workers at Chhattisgarh alumina refinery | India News – Times of India



RAIPUR: 4 staff had been killed and one sustained accidents after a hopper full of coal collapsed on them at an alumina refinery in Chhattisgarh’s Surguja district on Sunday. As per preliminary info, a steep hopper mounted on a metal tower full of coal fell on the labourers working proper beneath it.
The accident occurred at Maa Kudargarhi Alumina Refinery in Silsila village.Officers stated extra staff might be trapped beneath the iron hopper. Efforts are on to search out the lacking. A police staff reached the spot and rescue was launched swiftly following which, our bodies of 4 labourers had been retrieved whereas one employee who was important was hospitalised. Officers stated the hopper was used to load coal and was related to a conveyor belt, part of which was broken.
