High Court relief for ED officials in Karnataka tribal funds scam | India News – Times of India



BENGALURU: The Karnataka excessive courtroom has stayed an investigation in opposition to two senior Enforcement Directorate officers probing the multi-crore fund diversion case pertaining to Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Growth Company.
Justice M Nagaprasanna handed this order after listening to a petition filed by ED deputy director (Bengaluru) Manoj Mittal and ED assistant director (Bengaluru) Murali Kannan.
The petitioners had challenged the FIR registered by B Kallesh, further director of the social welfare division, for the offences of breach of belief and prison intimidation. Kallesh had alleged that the 2 ERD officers had threatened and pressured him to present statements in opposition to senior state govt members.
Showing for the ED, further solicitor common Aravind Kamath claimed that sequences within the case level to the truth that it’s a “counter-blast” case with a sinister design to scuttle the continued investigation pertaining to loot of public cash. However, advocate common Okay Shashikiran Shetty claimed the allegations made within the grievance had been severe in nature.
After listening to either side, Justice Nagaprasanna identified {that a} crime was registered, an enforcement case info report (ECIR) was registered, and the ED officers in discharge of their official responsibility had summoned the complainant to analyze the matter.
