Govt plans to build 62,500km of rural roads by 2029 – Times of India



NEW DELHI: The Cupboard on Wednesday authorized a plan to offer all-weather connectivity to 25,000 rural habitations by constructing 62,500 km of roads and development and upgradation of bridges between 2024 to 2029 below the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-IV.
The entire outlay might be Rs 70,125 crore, together with a central share of Rs 49,087.5 crore and state share of Rs 21,037.5 crore.
Already 7.66 lakh km of roads in rural areas has been constructed.
