GE Aerospace on Wednesday stated its GEnx industrial aviation engine household achieved a milestone of two million flight hours with South Asian airways, with India contributing 90% (lead by Air India and Vistara) and the remaining 10% share coming from Biman, a Bangladeshi airline.

“The GEnx engine has been instrumental in supporting South Asia’s aviation progress. This milestone is a testomony to its engineering excellence and know-how maturity,” stated Mahendra Nair, Group Vice President for Industrial Programme at GE Aerospace, in a press release.

Vikram Rai, South Asia Chief Government Officer, GE Aerospace stated, GEs has been having lengthy relationships with South Asian airways, together with Air India, because it was planning enlargement with 20 new wide-body plane that will be powered by 40 GEnx engines.
