DRDO successfully conducts maiden flight-test of Phase-II Ballistic Missile Defence interceptor off Odisha coast | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: The Defence Analysis & Growth Organisation (DRDO), on Wednesday efficiently carried out a flight check of the Section-II Ballistic Missile Defence System at ITR, Chandipur in Odisha.
The check commenced at 4.20 pm (1620 hours) when a Goal Missile, simulating an adversary’s Ballistic Missile, was launched from LC-IV Dhamra.
Sharing a publish on X, the Defence Manufacturing India stated: “Boosting #AatmanirbharDefence.DRDO for right now’s profitable flight check of Section-II Ballistic Missile Defence System and acknowledged that the check has once more demonstrated our Ballistic Missiles Defence functionality.”
The weapon system radars, strategically positioned on each land and sea, promptly detected the incoming Goal Missile and activated the AD Interceptor system in response. At 4.24, the Section-II AD Endo-atmospheric missile was launched from LC-III at ITR to intercept the Goal Missile.
