West Bengal forest division has determined to call a creek in Sundarbans Tiger Reserve (STR) after forest guard Amalendu Halder who was killed by Bangladeshi pirates on Might 18, reviews Krishnendu Mukherjee. Rajendra Jakhar, STR subject director, mentioned that is their effort to recollect him on Worldwide Tiger Day. Domestically often known as Morabani-I, the creek will likely be renamed ‘Amalendu Khal‘.
“We’ll declare it on Monday, World Tiger Day,” mentioned deputy subject director Justine Jones.
Halder, 59, was hacked to demise by 8 to 10 pirates. Three different forest employees who had been with Halder jumped into the river and escaped the assault.
