Controversy Erupts as Students Wear Hijabs in School Play Promoting Religious Harmony | Gurgaon News – Times of India



GURGAON: Controversy erupted in Sonipat’s Badauli village earlier this week when members of a right-wing outfit protested towards a faculty programme the place some college students wore hijabs.
At Govt Senior Secondary Faculty on Wednesday, a bunch of scholars organised a play to advertise amity and spiritual concord. College students represented members of various communities and wore clothes related to them.Some ladies wore hijabs.
The day ended peacefully. However hassle erupted on Thursday when footage of the play have been circulated on social media.
Manish Rai, who identifies himself because the president of Akhand Hindu Swabhiman Sangathan, led a bunch of villagers to the varsity premises and raised slogans towards the principal and lecturers.
The protesters accused them of main Hindu college students towards their faith by making them put on hijabs. A police staff needed to be deployed to forestall any untoward state of affairs.

However the protest and heckling didn’t cease. It was solely after Gulia apologised and promised by no means to carry such programmes on the varsity campus that the protesters left.
