Centre removes BSF chief Nitin Agrawal, his deputy Khurania with immediate effect | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: The Centre on Friday issued orders to take away Border Safety Drive (BSF) Director Common (DG) Nitin Agrawal, and his deputy, Particular DG (West) Y B Khurania, from their positions with quick impact.
Each officers have been despatched again to their respective state cadres.
Agrawal, a 1989-batch Kerala cadre officer, had assumed the position of BSF chief in June 2022, whereas Khurania, belonging to the 1990-batch of the Odisha cadre, was heading the power’s formation alongside the Pakistan border because the Particular DG (West).
The Appointments Committee of the Cupboard (ACC) issued separate orders stating that Agrawal and Khurania have been being “prematurely” repatriated with “quick impact.” The explanations behind their sudden elimination haven’t been disclosed within the authorities orders.
The BSF, with roughly 2.65 lakh personnel, is accountable for guarding India’s borders with Pakistan on the western entrance and Bangladesh on the japanese facet.
