Cache of grenades, firearms from NDFB-era found buried in Assam village | Guwahati News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: The Assam Police unearthed a cache of grenades and firearms from the Bilasiguri-Batasipur village underneath Dhekiajuli Police Station in Sonitpur district on Monday.
The operation led to the invention of 5 hand grenades of Chinese language origin, 5 hand-made grenades, a pistol, a revolver, and 5 detonators, all of which have been buried underground.
Assam director normal of police (DGP) GP Singh stated that the weapons had doubtless been hidden throughout the days of the Nationwide Democratic Entrance of Bodoland (NDFB) insurgency.
The grenades and firearms have been buried deep underneath the earth, a tactic generally employed by rebel teams to evade detection.
“5 hand grenades of Chinese language origin and 5 hand-made grenades, one pistol, one revolver and 5 detonators recovered early this morning from Village Bilasiguri-Batasipur underneath Dhekiajuli PS in Sonitpur District the place they have been hidden underneath earth throughout NDFB days,” the DGP tweeted.
