FM Nirmala Sitharaman stated 3 crore extra homes beneath Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in rural and concrete areas had been introduced and for this, the required allocations have been being made.
Sitharaman proposed that govt put in place insurance policies for selling rental housing markets. Govt may also facilitate rental housing with dormitory-type lodging for industrial employees. This can be achieved in public-private partnership mode.
Sitharaman stated states charging excessive stamp duties on buy of properties could be inspired to deliver down the charges, and asserted that this reform could be a key element in city growth schemes.
She requested states to think about additional reducing stamp duties for properties purchased by ladies. “We are going to encourage states, which proceed to cost excessive stamp obligation to reasonable the charges for all, and likewise contemplate additional reducing duties for properties bought by ladies. This reform can be made an integral part of city growth schemes,” Sitharaman stated.
Stamp obligation is a tax imposed by state govts on the sale of property/property possession. It’s payable beneath Part 3 of Indian Stamp Act, 1899. The obligation is payable on the time of registration of property if a property is acquired by the use of a sale deed/conveyance deed/present deed. pti
