After attack, Bengal junior doctors threaten return to cease-work | Kolkata News – Times of India



KOLKATA: Junior docs throughout Bengal have threatened to return to finish cease-work from Monday, citing safety considerations following the assault on some colleagues and nurses at Faculty of Medication & Sagore Dutta Hospital close to Kolkata on Friday.
They declared that they’ll go on cease-work after SC listening to on Monday on RG Kar rape-murder case. They gave the state govt a 5pm deadline to reveal its seriousness in turning medical schools and hospitals protected.The choice was taken Saturday after a marathon normal physique assembly of West Bengal Junior Docs’ Entrance (WBJDF).
“The assault on our colleagues occurred on Friday when WBJDF was discussing problems with security, safety and menace tradition. This incident has proved that govt has didn’t instil confidence for us to return to the wards,” stated Anustup Mukherjee, of WBJDF.
The junior docs had lifted their 42-day-long cease-work partially on Sept 21 following protracted negotiations, first with CM Mamata Banerjee after which chief secretary Manoj Pant. Whereas junior docs at Sagore Dutta hospital resorted to an indefinite cease-work from Friday itself, 7,000-plus junior docs throughout Bengal could tread the identical path 9 days after they resumed emergency obligation.
