MUMBAI: Central Railway (CR) has imposed a penalty of Rs 5 lakh on its housekeeping contractor following the invention of 91 lifeless rats within the motormen’s foyer at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) since Monday.
On July 22, motormen and prepare managers of suburban companies have been compelled to relocate from the operating room to the concourse space of CSMT station because of the insufferable stench.As a mark of protest, they’d refused to return in until the issue was solved. They claimed the workplaces had not been cleaned for fairly a while.
A CR official said, “The contractor, Kings Securities, has been fined Rs 5 lakh after the invention of 91 lifeless rats since Sunday.” CR Common Supervisor RK Yadav visited the foyer and spoke with the prepare crew to handle the state of affairs.
