Hilsa for India not a gift, it’s an export: Bangladesh | India News – Times of India



Bangladesh’s interim govt clarified Monday that hilsa fish was not being despatched as a present to India however as an export to assist Dhaka earn international foreign money.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to ministry of setting, forests and local weather change, mentioned they didn’t need to maintain the door for discussions with India closed over small issues.
“The choice got here from the highest stage,” she mentioned, and emphasised that the export worth of hilsa was important and shouldn’t be underestimated.”The value has already elevated so it isn’t correct to say costs will rise additional resulting from export. Bangladesh on Saturday mentioned it will export 3,000 metric tonnes of hilsa to India forward of Durga puja.
