Maharashtra govt approves renaming of Pune airport to ‘Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj’ airport | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra authorities on Monday authorised a proposal to rename Pune’s worldwide airport as ‘Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Airport’. The choice was made throughout a cupboard assembly chaired by chief minister Eknath Shinde, with the proposal now set to be forwarded to the Centre for closing approval.
Chief minister Shinde introduced the choice in an X publish, together with updates on different schemes and advantages for the individuals.

Minister of state for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, additionally took to X to share the information, stating: “Step one in the direction of renaming the worldwide airport in Pune as ‘Jagadguru Santshrestha Tukaram Maharaj Pune Worldwide Airport’ has been taken immediately, and the proposal given by us has been authorised by the state authorities. This proposal might be authorised within the upcoming Cupboard, Deputy chief minister Devendraji Fadnavis did it in Pune simply two days in the past. Union minister Nitin Gadkari had earlier expressed his assist for the renaming, assuring backing from the central authorities. Mohol confirmed that step one in the direction of renaming the airport has been efficiently accomplished.
