Union Budget 2024: Government to launch credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs, reduces turnover threshold for TReDS onboarding – Times of India



NEW DELHI: The federal government will introduce a credit score assure scheme for MSMEs to facilitate time period loans with out collateral or third-party ensures, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced on Tuesday. Presenting her seventh consecutive Union Finances, Sitharaman additionally acknowledged that public sector banks will develop in-house capabilities for credit score evaluation of MSMEs.
To bolster the sector, the federal government will scale back the turnover threshold for MSME consumers’ necessary onboarding on the TReDS platform from Rs 500 crore to Rs 250 crore. TReDS is an internet platform designed to help MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises).
As well as, SIDBI will open 24 new branches to serve MSME clusters.
The Finances allocates Rs 2.66 lakh crore for rural growth. Moreover, the federal government will launch a saturation drive beneath the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN).
