The federal government has lifted restrictions on manufacturing of ethanol from sugarcane juice, b-heavy and c-heavy molasses for the subsequent ethanol provide 12 months that begins in November.
In a communication on Thursday, the Division of Meals and Public Distribution stated sugar mills and distilleries can produce ethanol, as agreed with oil advertising and marketing firms, from sugarcane juice, sugar syrup, b-heavy or c-heavy molasses. The Division and the Ministry of Petroleum and Pure Fuel will evaluate the diversion for ethanol periodically to make sure sufficient sugar is out there for home consumption. The division restricted ethanol production from last December to make sure the home market had sufficient provide of sugar.
Indian Sugar and Bio-Power Producers Affiliation Director Basic Deepak Ballani stated lifting the restrictions and permitting unrestricted ethanol manufacturing from sugarcane juice, B-Heavy Molasses, and C-Heavy Molasses for ethanol 12 months 2024-25 was a big reduction to the business.
