Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda associate Amin ul Haq arrested by Pakistan – Times of India



Amin ul Haq, a high-ranking member of Al-Qaeda and a detailed confidant of Osama Bin Laden, was arrested by the Pakistani counter-terrorism authorities on Friday.
The Counter-Terrorism Division (CTD) in Punjab has filed fees towards ul Haq, alleging his involvement in orchestrating sabotage operations aimed toward essential infrastructure throughout the province.
“In a big breakthrough within the battle towards terrorism, CTD, in collaboration with intelligence businesses, efficiently apprehended Amin ul Haq, a senior chief of Al-Qaeda,” the spokesperson of the division mentioned in a press release.
“His title is included in a UN checklist of terrorists,” the assertion added.
In line with a UN order, Haq was listed for his affiliation with Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. He was accused of collaborating within the financing, planning, and help of terrorist actions, and coordinating safety for bin Laden.
The arrest, described as a serious milestone within the ongoing battle towards terrorism, was the results of a collaborative effort between the CTD and intelligence businesses, as acknowledged by the CTD spokesperson.
The panel mentioned that he was included on the checklist as a consequence of his connections with Al-Qaeda, bin Laden, or Taliban organizations. His actions, which led to his itemizing, concerned “supplying, promoting or transferring arms and associated materiel” to those teams, thereby contributing to or supporting their operations.
In 2011, Osama Bin Laden was killed throughout a US navy operation in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
