NEW DELHI: Govt on Saturday revealed an admission made by the UPA govt in 2013 that there’s no provision within the nation to formally name a pure calamity as a nationwide catastrophe, a requirement put forth by Congress’ Rahul Gandhi and different opposition politicians.
“As per a 2013 Lok Sabha reply by then junior residence minister Mullappally Ramachandran, there is no such thing as a provision to categorise a pure catastrophe as a nationwide catastrophe,” a govt supply mentioned.“The cacophony of the demand is led by Gandhi, the (former) MP from the area.
