NEW DELHI: Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar engaged in a heated trade with Samajwadi MP Jaya Bachchan amid large uproar within the Higher Home on Friday.
Throughout the commotion, Dhankar accused the opposition MPs of exhibiting disrespect in the direction of the Structure and democracy. He then referred to as upon Jaya Amitabh Bachchan to handle the Home.
Bachchan questioned Dhankhar’s “tone” in Parliament, triggering a rebuke from the Rajya Sabha Chairman.

This incident follows the same trade on Monday when Bachchan objected to Dhankhar addressing her by her full title, Jaya Amitabh Bachchan, calling it a “new drama” in Parliament. Whereas expressing delight in her husband’s achievements, Bachchan conveyed her discomfort with girls’s identities being tied to their husbands’ names.
In response to Bachchan’s considerations, Dhankhar cited the procedural norms associated to election certificates, explaining, “Nonetheless, Jaya Ji, the title that seems within the election certificates is what’s used, and you may get the title modified; there’s a provision for that.”
