4 scrap dealers killed in blast triggered by discarded ammo in J&K | India News – Times of India



SRINAGAR: 4 scrap sellers died in a blast when discarded ammunition went off in Sopore space of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday. The ammunition was a part of an enormous scrap consignment from Ladakh that the sellers had been unloading from a truck into their godown in Sher Colony locality.
Sopore SP Divya D mentioned it’s not identified the place the scrap sellers sourced the discarded ammunition from.Police have registered a case and investigation is on to trace the one that gave the consignment to the victims, the SP added.
Forensic consultants had been summoned to determine the character of the explosive materials that went off throughout unloading.
Whereas two scrap sellers died on the spot, the opposite two succumbed throughout therapy at a hospital. The deceased had been recognized as Nazir Ahmad Nadroo (40), Aazim Ashraf Mir (20), Aadil Rashid Bhat (23) and Mohammad Azhar (25), the SP mentioned.
The explosion triggered panic within the locality.
