28 Pak pilgrims on way to Karbala die as their bus overturns in Iran – Times of India



ISLAMABAD: No less than 28 Pakistani Shia pilgrims have been killed and 23 injured after their bus, on its solution to Iraq, overturned on Tuesday night time in central Iran, Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran, Muddasir Tipu, mentioned on Wednesday.
They have been on their solution to Karbala in Iraq to participate within the ‘Arbaeen’ pilgrimage, which is held yearly to commemorate the dying of Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
The accident, Iran’s state media reported, was attributable to a technical defect within the automobile’s braking system. The passengers, Pakistani officers mentioned, belonged to Larkana, Ghotki, Khairpur and different cities of southern Sindh province.
“Eleven girls and 17 males misplaced their lives on this accident. Seven of the injured persons are in essential situation and 6 injured individuals have now left the hospital,” an official mentioned.
