AGRA: Two members of a right-wing organisation have been arrested for allegedly pouring Ganga water on the fundamental mausoleum of the Taj Mahal in Agra on Saturday in the course of the month of Sawan. The boys claimed that they provided the holy water as a result of they believed the “Taj Mahal was initially a Shiva temple“.
Shyambabu Singh and Vinesh Chaudhary, related to the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), have been taken into custody by the Central Industrial Safety Pressure (CISF) after being caught pouring water on the Unesco World Heritage web site.They have been later handed over to the police and arrested, with an FIR registered towards them on the Tajganj police station.
Sources mentioned the duo entered the Taj premises after buying tickets as vacationers, which allowed them to usher in water bottles. A video clip of the purported incident circulating on social media confirmed one of many males pouring water from a plastic bottle on the locked doorways resulting in the Taj’s basement, which has the graves of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his queen Mumtaz Mahal.
